Technological Advancements in Retail Management Accounting
Abstract
This paper investigates the impact of technological advancements on retail management accounting practices in Brazil. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, analyzing survey data from retail firms and conducting interviews with accounting professionals. Findings indicate that technologies such as point-of-sale systems and data analytics significantly improve inventory management and financial reporting. However, challenges related to data privacy and technology costs are also discussed. The research provides recommendations for retail firms to effectively integrate technology into their accounting practices while ensuring compliance with regulations. This study contributes to the understanding of how technology is transforming management accounting in the retail sector.
