Blockchain Technology in Management Accounting: Opportunities and Challenges

Abstract

This research explores the opportunities and challenges of blockchain technology in management accounting practices in Brazil. Through a qualitative approach, the study conducts interviews with accounting professionals and technology experts. Findings reveal that blockchain can enhance transparency, security, and efficiency in accounting processes. However, challenges related to implementation costs, regulatory concerns, and the need for staff training are also identified. The research provides insights into how organizations can leverage blockchain technology to improve their accounting practices while addressing potential barriers. This study contributes to the literature on technology adoption in management accounting, offering a framework for future research.
