Financial Inclusion and Technology: An Analysis of Ecuador's Banking Sector
Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of technology on financial inclusion in Ecuador's banking sector. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, it examines the adoption of digital banking services and their effect on access to financial resources among underserved populations. Findings reveal that technology significantly enhances financial access, particularly for low-income individuals and small businesses. However, challenges such as digital literacy and internet accessibility are also identified. The research emphasizes the need for targeted policies to promote technology adoption and address barriers to financial inclusion. This study contributes to understanding the role of technology in enhancing financial services in emerging economies, providing insights for policymakers and financial institutions.
