Investigating the Role of Education in Promoting Economic Development in Tanzania

Abstract

This article investigates the role of education in fostering economic development in Tanzania, a country striving to enhance its socio-economic status through human capital development. It analyzes the relationship between educational attainment and economic growth, emphasizing the importance of both formal and vocational education in equipping individuals with skills necessary for the labor market. The research highlights the challenges facing the education sector, including access disparities, quality of education, and alignment with industry needs. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, the study demonstrates that investment in education significantly contributes to poverty reduction, job creation, and overall economic productivity. The findings advocate for policy reforms aimed at improving educational infrastructure and curriculum relevance to maximize education's impact on Tanzania's economic development.
